I love finding myself wasting time trying to capture Cubby's one mutant whisker on film.. Seriously, this whisker goes straight out and forward from the left side of his face..and it has curves. It truly is a mutant whisker and occasionally it mesmerizes me. What can I say..I'm easily distracted from unexciting tasks...

Here are my sad attempts at trying to capture it for posterity and for all of you who can't see it in person...

UPDATE: I'm sad to report that sometime in March 2008, I noticed that the mutant whisker was no longer present. May it rest in mutant peace..

In the last couple of years, this movie has been released a multitude of times, each with slightly different extras on the DVDs. It even had the "Girl/Buttercup" version vs the "Guy/Pirate" version. I resisted those. But then I came across this cover. The mirror image showcasing both lands and roles in this movie was just too perfect.

Alas, I had to purchase.

Recently I watched the movie "Once" with a good friend (I recommend it), who just sent me a little song dedication of one of the songs from that soundtrack. Reading over the lyrics, I realized that it reminded me of another sweet independent movie I rented awhile back. I'm a sucker (its well documented), especially when a movie opens up with this quote:

“Let us hope that we are all preceded in this world by a love story”
